- The application has been developed as part of the course curriculum IN2000: Software Engineering with Project Application

- Application shows Weather data for fishing boats in coastline of Norway
- It uses GRIB and GeoJson data from MET
- App takes use of Jetpack Compose as a modern framework to build smooth and powerful frontend applications on Android.
- App uses Corutines for effective fetching of the data and third party libraries for parsing data and converting it to usable polygons on MapBox.
- Mapbox’s Android SDK provides the essential map functionality for the app, where weather alerts are shown as polygons and user’s current location shown on the map.
- In additon, app adds an extra functionality by showing the location of the ships that are over 299 brutonn on the map with their rotation angles and course. The data for this functionality is being fetched from Barentswatch in GeoJson format and parsed into Mapbox. The location and course of the ships are also updated automatically.
